Five categories cover every private jet in operation today. The right class for your trip is determined by range, passenger count, and comfort requirements — not prestige. Here is exactly what each class offers.

Very Light Jet (VLJ)

Aircraft: Cirrus Vision Jet, Embraer Phenom 100, HondaJet Elite. Seats: 4–5 passengers. Range: 1,200–2,000 km. Cabin standing height: 1.2–1.4 m (cannot stand upright). Charter price: €2,800–5,500 for European short hops. Best for: solo or couple, short hops under 2 hours, cost-sensitive operators. Not ideal for: groups over 4, overnight routes, transatlantic.

Light Jet

Aircraft: Cessna Citation CJ3+, Embraer Phenom 300E, Pilatus PC-24. Seats: 6–8. Range: 3,200–4,000 km. Cabin: stand-up possible in PC-24 (1.75 m), flat floor in most models. Charter price: €4,500–9,000 European, up to €14,000 for 4-hour routes. Best for: business travel, 2–6 passengers, European medium-range. Midsize Jet

Best for: large groups, intercontinental, long-duration flights where rest is required.

Ultra Long Range (ULRJ)

Aircraft: Gulfstream G700, Bombardier Global 7500, Dassault Falcon 10X. Seats: 13–19. Range: 12,000–14,800 km. Multi-room cabin, full bedroom, chef's kitchen, lounge zones. Charter: €40,000–100,000+. Best for: transoceanic non-stop, VVIP travel, any route where maximum range and maximum cabin volume are required simultaneously.
