Frequently Asked Questions about Private Jet Prices

How much does a private jet cost per hour?

Operating costs per flight hour: Very Light Jet €3,500–€5,500/h, Light Jet €6,000–€9,000/h, Midsize Jet €10,000–€15,000/h, Heavy Jet €16,000–€25,000/h. Additional costs include landing fees, handling and any positioning flight.

When is chartering a private jet cheaper than business class?

For groups of 4 or more, a Light Jet on medium-haul routes often costs less per person than a business class ticket — especially when you factor in the 3+ hours of airport lead time. A Light Jet London–Munich costs around €10,000, while a business class ticket runs about €1,800 each: from 6 passengers onward the private jet becomes cost-competitive.

What is included in the private jet charter price?

Typically included in the charter price: pilots, fuel, maintenance, insurance, standard handling at the departure airport. Billed separately: catering/beverages, departure tax, handling at the destination, positioning flight (if the aircraft is not based at your departure airport).

What is a positioning flight and what does it cost?

If the aircraft is not based at your departure airport, it must fly there empty first (positioning flight). These costs are borne by the charter client. When booking through a large broker with their own network, positioning flights are often minimized or combined with other bookings.
